Half boy/Half fish

Here is your first look at a half boy/half fish.  I think since school let out we have been in some body of water every day!!  I think he's got gills under there somewhere.

Nic at Night performance

The church musical this year was "Nic at Night" and the kids were excited about their performance.  Mackenzie had a small solo in one of their songs.  Sean was being the typical boy and putting his arms in his shirt and playing during the performance.  On Saturday, Ryan last only a short time sitting next to Alex before he was ready to go outside.  Wednesday's performance he did a little better and made it through Act I before heading to the back and then we came in for some of the other parts of the show.  I did get Mackenzie's solo on video so will try to upload that.

The pictures are actually from Wednesday except the one of Alaina and Alex.

5:30

Sean decided to get up at 5:30am on Friday.  He goes through stages of getting up in the middle of the night or getting up early but always seems to fall back asleep about the time everyone else is getting up.  This time he was wide awake at 6:45 when I went downstairs and went to school then to Mackenzie's school and played and never got the tired whines.  He played more at home and then was playing upstairs when Daddy came downstairs to tell me that he was asleep with a toy on his lap.  I looked at the time and realized it was 5:30pm and we needed to have him get up or he would be up till midnight.  It all worked out and he didn't end up staying up too late or getting up too early.

Oops! He did it again!!

Was it because it was Friday the 13th?  Tonight Sean decided it was time for a little trim to his hair.  Once again we have a bald strip in the middle of his head.  He did this with kid friendly scissors and was able to cut all the way to the scalp.  I'm too tired from last night to even get the picture posted or to shave his hair.  That will have to wait till tomorrow.  ** update:  hair has been shaved though you can see exactly where he cut his hair and obviously I got the picture posted.

Ryan was up ALL night the past few nights coughing.  He's just got the allergy crud and nothing seems to keep him cough free for more than an hour or so.  Daddy got home around midnight from California and took the first shift with him and then I got up and tried to get him back to sleep and cough free.  We all finally fell asleep and then back up around 6am getting more medicines and propping him up on a pillow etc.   So it's off to bed for me!!

Christmas Chapel

leaving chapel

singing songs and listening to the story
Sean in his classroom...ready to go!

I got to see the rehearsal for the Christmas Chapel yesterday when I co-oped for Sean's class.  They were so cute and it was even better today because they had on their crowns.   After the performance the kids went back to their classrooms and the parents went to a reception which was very nice.  Then Ryan and I ran a couple errands before it was back to get Sean from school.

What happened to your hair??

Blogger once again not playing nice.....pictures are out of order.
Here's where we made Sean's hair into a mohawk and his sister is holding his face!

The final product
Loving sister made him this sign (a little hunk in the front and another on the left side that I didn't upload that picture)
lovely hunk of hair cut off on this side

Sean decided it was a good day to cut some hunks out of his hair at 8pm.    I went in to check on him and he had been playing on his bed.  His hair looked just messed up not cut until I saw the big bald spot on the side of his head.  When I asked him "What happened to your hair?" and he replied, "I ate it!" and "it's in my tummy now."  So we had a little barber shop time in the bathroom (too cold to go outside!) and got him back to a shaved head.  There's never a dull moment around here!!

Halloween Party #3

Hulk Smash meets Superman
This was by far the best part of today.  A little boy was Incredible Hulk and had the smash hands that the boys have been wanting.  So they got to "borrow" parts of the little boys costume and loved every minute.
Sean with Hulk mask and arms with Skelton costume
Our attempt to get a picture w/all the kids

Sean, attempt to use the self timer but didn't have the camera up enough.

Today we had a party with the mom and tots group.  It was so much fun!  There was lots of food, treats for the kids and a great playground.  The boys didn't want to leave!

Fire Station Field Trip

Sean being silly, the fireman in all his gear
Sean getting to spray the water
The whole gang
Ryan covering his ears from the sirens, Sean and Josiah being "penguins"

Sean's class went to the Fire Station today and he could not have been more excited!  He asked yesterday if it was the day I was driving him to the fire station and I had to tell him not till Thursday.  He also asked that his friend Josiah ride with us which luckily he did.  There were 3 classes that went to the fire station and they first watched a video that taught them alot of things to do if there is a fire.  Then we toured the fire house and then came out to the truck which was by far the best part.  They got to each go in the back of the truck and check out the inside then get out on the other side.  After they all did that then they got the hose down and were able to each turn on the hose to spray water on a cone and knock it down.  They also turned on the sirens and most kids covered their ears.  Sean and Ryan (who got to tag along because he didn't have school today) had a great time.

Sean gets to play TENNIS!!

Tennis lessons were today and Sean ended up falling asleep on the couch at 3:30 right before we needed to leave.  I got him up and ready to go but he wasn't quite awake when we got there.  He started the lesson kind of slow and unsure of what to think.  About 5 minutes into it he started to wake up and got to hit the ball several times and play a game with the other kids.  He did great for it being his first lesson!

Mackenzie is a natural and did great once again.  She is having feelings that maybe this isn't the sport for her.  I don't know if that's because Sean was there today or it's just today or what.  It's sometimes hard to figure her out.  Next week they will go for 2 lessons since they missed due to the rain.  Then we can determine if she wants to continue on with more lessons or what.

Rain?? What's that??

I am currently making this Broccoli Cheese soup that I found the recipe for recently.  I am using 1/2 milk and 1/2 half and half since I didn't know how it will come out.  So I'll let you know how it turns out.  I might also add that I will not be putting the mixture in the blender to puree....too much trouble.

These were from the rainy days last week and Sean loved being out in the rain.  Can you tell?  We had almost forgotten what it was like to have a good downpour.

Halloween Possibilities

This is one of Sean's possibilities for Halloween.  He can't seem to make up his mind so we are going to wait till a little closer to the day so he won't have a chance to change his mind again!   The list includes....batman, spiderman, blue power ranger, vampire, pirate and on and on.

Growth Spurt??

Sean is about to eat us out of our home.  Yesterday he ate 2 breakfasts, lunch, lots of popcorn at the movie, dinner, then ice cream.  Today he also had 2 breakfasts, lunch and so far many fruit kebabs (the kids made some with strawberries and bananas)  and now wants peanut butter and apple.  I can't keep up with him!!

Squirrels falling from the sky

Thursday afternoon as we got home from school Mackenzie came across a baby squirrel dead in the front yard.  I got some bags and scooped him up and quickly ran across the street to put it in my neighbor's trash can.  The trash truck had JUST gone down our side so they had started up the other side of the street.  I figured the problem was solved!

Went in the backyard to take care of objects I thought might fly around the yard if/when these big hurricane Ike winds were coming.  There I discovered right by the back porch another dead squirrel.  This time I knew Lucky had gotten it and it had parts of it's tail missing and more.  The kids all came out to check the squirrel out.  Sean had to mention his teeth were sticking out and his tail was hanging off.  So this time I got the shovel.  Got him triple bagged up and had to throw him away in the now empty trash can.
So today when Daddy was back Sean was telling him all about the dead squirrels.  He said there was one in the front and one in the back.  And then he said they were "squirrels falling from the sky."  Hopefully we will not have anymore falling from the sky squirrels in our yard.

Class picture

Sean's first day at school picture.  They sure are cute!!

Super Powers

Over the last several weeks I have come across a mess here or there.  One time it was strawberry milk powder all over the counter and the floor and another time it was crackers all over the floor.  So I asked Sean what happened?  and in both cases he would say "there were powers in me that made the powder or crackers come out and spill all over the floor."  I would ask him then why his super powers didn't pick up the mess.  He would say "I tell my powers to get the crackers out of the bag not back in the bag."  You gotta love his imagination even if it does result in a mess here or there.

Cute pictures

These were from last week but very cute!
