The Toy Project

The week before Spring Break we got the assignment for making a toy that rolls, slides or spins.  They had till the 30th to complete the project and do all their data and research.  Mackenzie decided on a lot of things she wanted to make but kept coming back to a skateboard.  She did hope it would be of material that she could actually ride it but that was not the case.  We also had to use materials around the house so we found cardboard, styrofoam, skewers, and bottle tops.  We started work on it and first had the wheels made from some buddy buck toy tops but they were kind of flimsy.  Then we got some expert advice from Daddy(thanks Daddy!) about how to mount the cardboard onto the axles.  I think she was very happy with it!
