Port Aransas Labor Day

We headed down to Port Aransas as soon as the kids were out of school on Friday. Traffic wasn't terrible but could have been better. We decided to go the route through Seguin but yet neither of us planned ahead to figure out that route. Right as soon as we were getting off I-35 Ryan threw up. So he had to be cleaned up, changed, seat cleaned, and all wipes thrown away. After that we used google maps which sent us WAY in the wrong direction but we didn't really know it till later.

We spent the next 5 hours in the car criss-crossing between county roads to highways. We did go through a cool road through the huge wind mills. There must have been 50 or so. We never got to stop and take a picture by one though. The kids were about ready to pull their hair out and ours.

We did make it and everyone got in bed and fell asleep. Saturday was a great day with cloud cover and we headed to the beach. Then we got lunch and dropped Daddy off to play golf at Newport Dunes. The kids and I headed to the souvenir shops then back to the pool. At the pool this little girl probably only 3 slipped and fell into the pool. Her dad was across the swimming pool and I was over by our chair so we both went in that direction and I was able to grab her arm and pull her out. It was scary for everyone there. She was fine after a few minutes of shock but went right back to swimming in the pool with her floatie on this time.

We went to Crazy Cajun for dinner and then to the beach to have the kids run laps. We even saw a few fireworks.

Sunday we got up and hit the beach and built a huge sand castle. Ryan said it was ice cream with chocolate, caramel and sprinkles on it (the drip part of the castle was the topping). Then we packed up and headed to eat at Port A Brewery. Caught the ferry across and headed home. Our drive was alot shorter(and direct) and we only had to make a few potty stops and of course a DQ blizzard stop as well.
