We got some much needed rest Friday night and were ready to hit the zoo on Saturday morning.
On the walk from our hotel we came across these statues of Hello Kitty and her friends so of course we had to stop.
The we walked down to Burger Heaven and got breakfast then hailed a cab and headed to the Bronx Zoo. There Ellen, Mike and Scott met us and we all went in. The first place we went was the Monkey House and how appropriate. Left there and checked out the seals swimming around then off to go through the Madagascar Exhibit.
They had some Fossa in there that Ryan was so interested in. He even laid down on the floor to watch them. They are just like a house cat to him.
Once we left there it was raining so we got all our rain jackets on then headed to the Tigers, then the antelope, the bears, the gorillas, the giraffe and bats.
Once we had done all that we headed to the Dancing Crane Cafe' and saw the flamingos on the the way in. We dried off, warmed up and ate some lunch there.
It was time for the zoo to shut down so we made a quick stop in the gift shop then headed to Ellen's car.
We all squeezed in Ellen's car (Ellen w/Mackenzie on lap, Me with Ryan on lap and Daddy w/Sean on lap in the back, Mike driving and Scott squeezed in the passenger seat with it pretty much all the way forward). I am sure we looked like a bunch of clowns but it was really nice of them to drive us all the way back to Manhatten.
We went up to our room changed into dry clothes then headed to Jekyll and Hyde Club. It has a haunted house feel to it and eyes moving in pictures and a ghoul that talks to you every once in a while. Sean really wanted to go so we did. Poor Ryan had no nap so feel asleep in the stroller on the way over and sat in his stroller while we ordered. The kids were pretty exhausted but we still went down to check out Rockefeller Center, the ice skating rink, where they film the Today Show and more. We got hats down there from someone claiming to be raising money for the homeless.......so we got 4 souvenirs for $20 bucks so not bad.
We headed back towards our hotel checking out fountains, Ellen's work building, street vendors and churches along the way. It was a great Saturday and we were all ready to go to bed.
Will get the pictures from Sunday up soon.....so Amy don't stalk me I gave you some to look at! :)
