Grandma had surgery

Walking through the parking lot hand and hand...cute!

Today my mom had hip replacement surgery.  It took a couple of hours and when we saw her in the late afternoon she was starting to wake up but still had some pain.  She was doing well and hopefully have a speedy recovery.

Mackenzie asked these questions when I told her what was going to happen today.

M: Why does she have to go to the hospital?

Me:  That's where they do the surgery

M: Is Grandpa doing the surgery?

Me: No, Dr. Malone is doing the surgery

M: Why doesn't Grandpa just do it at their house since he's a dr

Me: Seems like a good plan to me but I think it'll be a little easier at the hospital and they want to make sure she doesn't get an infection
