The kids and I embarked on a little fun and adventure today. First we ate lunch and then decided to head to the leprachaun tree on the UT campus. We had our trusty map given to us by the music teacher at Gullett and headed off.
On the way we passed where the Lamar house used to be. The link will take you to what it will be soon. It was a sad sight!! If you don't know Ellen's grandfather built a house off of N. Lamar and it was a really neat old house. Ellen and her sister inherited it when their grandmother died and since both are not living in Austin decided to sell. So it is now multiple condominiums!! Just sad to remember the times we had there when Ellen's grandmother was alive and then when Ellen moved in and had parties and gatherings there.
So next, we passed the Bob Bullock Museum and there was a huge astronaut outside so of course we decided to stop so the kids could see that. Sean is below by this astronaut. Then we took pictures by the star outside of the museum. We thought about going inside the museum because at this time it was starting to rain but decided to head out to the tree and not pay the fee to get in to the museum.
We headed to where the tree was and by this time it's pouring rain. Mackenzie decides maybe we should come back another day. I agree! We then head home with Ryan screaming because he's reached his past tired stage and enough is enough! So we head home in our "boat" as the kids imagined and they "rowed with their paddles" all the way home. We even stopped to look at Shoal Creek but was not rushing enough for them. Well they paddled the mom bomb home and got everyone out of the car and into the house without anyone melting from the rain. Just another adventure!
